Final Draft: The Reverie

Final Draft

Peer Review

When i presented my magazine to the class, I received some very reliable feedback. From the feedback I received, someone told me that it would be a good idea for the rest of my article to have a background color similar to my cover page, which involves unique greens, oranges and some beige. although someone said mint green was good for my article, most said it would be a good idea to change it. Also, i heavily agreed with a peer with the idea that the picture distribution on my feature article should be changed. i also heard that i should add captions to all the photographs in the magazine so it can bring more context.  i heard i should also put a black outline around the feature article title on the cover page and get rid of the page number below it. i should also add or move the title in a concrete area where there is more space. also, i realized, as mentioned by someone, that my entire article was only based on Sarasota-- and my magazine had to be more global. Portfolio Planning 2

To go more into detail, the possible subjects I may interview will either be a staff member from the Ringling Museum or from the Ringling College of Art and Design. These places will also be possible shooting locations for my magazine. I will visit some exhibits in the Ringling Museum to take pictures too, as well as outside. I will start the photo shoots during a weekend when it is most reasonable--this could be February 13th through the 14th. For the shot angles for the images, I will include a low shot from the ground angling upward with the architecture of Ringling to make them seem more grand and imposing. As for personnel, I can invite my friend who goes to Ringling College of Art and Design, as well as my friend who is a photographer to help me with the process. She has much experience in photography since she has taken classes for it at Sarasota High School, and I also know she will pursue an art major in college. For the end result of my magazine, I decided to narrow my t...

Portfolio Planning

Overall, I realized using my topic as fantasy for my magazine was too complex for me. So, i am deciding to change my magazine topic to art instead. Since art is very broad and can be applied to many concepts, I might also include architecture as a subtopic inside of the art topic. Also, I believe changing my magazine in this way will make it more possible to carry out the picture-taking, interviewing and such, for the fantasy topic was a bit too out there, and less possible for me to apply in Sarasota. Moving on, for the subjects of interviews for my feature article, I am thinking of interviewing someone who has experience with art. With that, I am thinking about interviewing someone from Ringling since I have a friend who goes to college there. I will also possibly include the Ringling Museum as one of my places to take pictures since it heavily revolves not only around art, but ancient and beautiful architecture.
